Here's a quick run down on my financial status:
I get paid from my (shitty paying) retail job every friday,
I almost never get paid more than $200,
and sometimes I sell things on eBay for some extra cash.
This past week I got a total of $295 for christmas, I bought a sweatshirt at Neiman Marcus for $87,
a sweater from my job for $43, a t-shirt from Lululemon that WAS on sale for $30, dinner with a friend for $16, dinner with another friend for $15, 3 different cab rides totaling $26, and riding the bus three different times totaling $10...
I am more than ashamed... that totals roughly $227.
I went a little too crazy and now I can't pay my $80 cell phone bill.
This has to change! Just writing this all down for the world to see is making me cringe. I vow to blog what I spend every day for at least six months. I am not starting this as a new years resolution or anything because I feel like those are somewhat silly and meant to just fail. I was reading THIS post from Refinery 29 and it really hit me in the right spots on some tips on what to do. I'm going to try to do the $20 - $40 a week in the envelope thing because it's easier for me to save money when I have it physically in front of myself.
Things that keep me motivated is the fact that I need to move out of my shitty shared apartment with my dad and the fact that I don't have a car to get myself where I need to be. I'll be 23 in about eight months, I can't be a slacker any longer!
Wish me luck and positive thoughts!
(I could be in this adorable Fiat 500 one day)
